What do ‘rights’ have in common? In this paper I show how the Kantian political philosophy implies the need to rethink the theoretical question of the definition of human rights and renders the question of universalisation quite serious for public institutions. Therefore, it seems necessary to safeguard the principle that the entire subject of human rights, including social rights, cannot set aside the consideration of the right of every individual to live in an acceptable manner, that is to say, decently.
