I argue that Kant's practical philosophy can be understood in relation to the fundamental disorder and chaos of human actions and not, as popularly understood, as advocating complete consistency and order. Given the potentially harmful effects of unregulated disorder, practical principles impose a minimal order on action. I stress that what remains is a limited disorder that Kant not only allows but endorses for practical aims.
